Hi,

when I try to watch a drv-ms file, the video plays normal on the MediaMVP, but audio goes to the servers speakers.

Actually the graph file that trans2mvp uses ends up up in the "Default Direct Sound Device".

The graph file seams to be generated every time a dvr-ms file is opened for playback on the MediaMVP.

So, how can I correct this? Is there some Audio-Filter missing on the server?

I'm guessing you havnt installed the Cyberlink mux? This is required if you want to watch .dvr-ms files on an MVP.

MuxChecker tells me I have

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\PDMpgMux.ax
VERSION: 4.0.1211

I have also attached the generated graph as xml file (DirectSound.txt) and a GraphEdit screenshot (DirectSound.png). I don't know how the graph is generated by GBPVR... but I suspect there is some audio filter missing on the server.

Anyway I was able to insert some MP3 audio encoder filter in the graph and generate a mpg file from the dvr-ms file - right away by "playing" the graph in Graphedit. And by the time the file was written I was able to watch it with audio and sound on the mvp.

So, technically there is a way to convert on the fly on the server. But how can I convince GBPR to generate the adequate graph?

Sorry, I dont know if there is much you're going to be able to do about this. Normally the default rendering is what is shown below. I suspect its something to do with this file containing DRM (recorded with MCE?) that buggers things, giving you the broken graph you have above.

Yes that is a MCE recording.

I finally found a way: I've copied some MpgMux.ax file coming from my new PC to the GBPVR server. Deregistered the current one and registered that filter. Now MuxChecker tells me:

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.0813

The mvp now plays the previously silent movie with sound. But GraphEdit wont open the mvptranscode.grf. It tells: "class not registered" - without stating what class it is complayning about. (I guess the PowerDVD installation containing the version 4 MPEG Muxer may also be broken because of this).

I hit on that, because my new PC - having the version 5 MPEG Muxer - was able to build a graph as in your screenshot (thanks! Smile). With version 4 GraphEdit allways denied connecting the audio output to the Muxer, telling me they are incompatible. The version 4 vs 5 (with my copies) difference is support for MPEG 2 audio as input.

The new PC runs Vista and has an AVerMedia M779 tuner card included - device manager tells, but AVerMedia does not know that product . On the GBPVR server works a Hauppauge PVR350. I would prefer using only one machine. Is it a good idea, to move the PVR350 to the new machine and let GBPVR handle both cards?

Great - well done.

There is lots of valid reasons this can happen, and not something to worry about.

Ok. I've never used a v4 one myself. Its worth noting that 5.0.0813 has some problems. You might be best to try v5.0.0.1307. There is a sticky post with download links.

I'm not really that familiar with the AverMedia cards, but if it is compatible with GB-PVR, then it should handle them just fine in the same machine.
