ComTweak v0.6 Released

Hey Guys,

Just released a new version of ComTweak. In addition to some new UI elements and some internal re-workings for my File List so that it now supports any and all directories (including drive roots) I have programmed in the Windows API functions to control the instance of Comskip which has been run from GBPVR.

Although I had planned on implementing the Marking Commercials feature via GBPVR before allowing multiple instances of Comskip to be run, I am leaning toward switching their priorities. I think I can implement multiple Comskip instances fairly easily. Once I finish that I would be left with only the Marking Commercials feature to focus on, which I think is going to be significantly harder.

No way to have features of comskip embedded into your plugin.dll so just that would be running.. Do you have any results to show of this working.. A small test.mpg with the folder files. If you need a place to host your files let me know there are two 10MB and 20MB for free..

Not sure exactly what you are talking about. My goal when I started this project was not to add the analysis functionality of Comskip, but rather only the feature to manually mark commercials. So the user would go to the point in the recording right before the commercial and mark that frame as the beginning of the commercial. Then they would go to the end of the commercial and mark that as the end. When the user is done marking all the commercials they would save the markings.

As of now Comskip allows this feature when you open the txt file associated with the recording instead of the recording file. But it is in the windowed debug window and the colors are faded out.

ComTweak takes advantage of this by automatically running Comskip with the Debug Window when a txt file of the same name as the recording exists in the same directory. In the newest version of ComTweak I have also added the ability to control that instance of Comskip by using some standard GB-PVR hotkeys.

I am not sure exactly what you mean by results to show this working, since you can just download the plugin and try it. Or if you can download the source code (its in C#) and check out my comments and what not. It is very heavily commented since this is my first plugin and I had no idea what I was doing when I started.

But I see you're just reviewing it comskip marked off the right segments or not?

I've never tried BeyondTV so I never knew about this feature, although it does sound cool.

I'm not sure if it can be done, I'd have to think about how to approach the problem a bit. It wouldn't be easy, thats for sure, but I like a challenge.

I am more or less trying to review Comskip's marked commercials. It could be used to mark an entire recording by using the plugin too, but it takes a long time. Works much better with a nicely tuned version of Comskip.
