I have problems that my audio will get out of sync after I've had LiveTV on for 1+ hours. I've searched for this issue, and I've seen a lot of replies that state you should change the combination of the video decoder, audio decoder and audio renderer.

I have the Cyberlink PowerDVD 6 Deluxe decoders (PDVD7), with the video and audio decoders specifically set to Cyberlink, not the System default. I had the audio renderer set to System default. So the first thing I did is change the audio renderer to Cyberlink as well. Seems to work, but when I try exiting a recording, GBPVR freezes and I have to kill it with the task manager. Because of this, I switched back to System default as a freeze on a recording was not good for the WAF Big Grin

I watched a DVD and I didn't have the sync problems. I guess I don't understand why the Cyberlink video/audio decoders would not work with each other in LiveTV mode, while they do in DVD (I haven't noticed the out of sync with Recordings either).

So, do I need to change decoders or the renderer? I have no other video decoders listed, and the MPEG Audio decoder is the only other audio decoder. I have a few renderers, like Directshow, SigmaTel Audio (soundcard), etc.

Any other ideas on what I can do?

Sorry, I dont really have any suggestions for you other than trying different combinations of audio/video decoder.

Hmmm, is it normal for the same video/audio decoders to cause this problem? It can get costly to go buy audio/video decoders to find ones that work with each other...

There is often not hard answer to questions like that. I actually use the Cyberlink decoders in my production/lounge setup, and dont experience and sync issues. I think other environmental issues can cause some users to see different things, for example soundcard's are ultimately responsible for timing so it or it's drivers can play a big part in this. Also versions of directshow components or other things installed on the machine may have an impact etc.

Try free decoders first then. There are plenty of good ones out there.

Thanks for the info and the links... I will try a couple of the free ones for my LiveTV/Recordings decoders and keep the Cyberlink as my DVD decoders. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

I installed the DScaler video/audio decoder and left LiveTV running overnight. And the sync problem seems to be gone.

Thanks sub for the suggestion! I just use the DScaler decoders for TV and the Cyberlink decoders for DVD.
