Recordings Not Exceeding 2 hours

I have searched the forums and cannot find an answer. For some reason, I cannot record for more than 2 hours, 22 minutes, and 37 seconds (2:22:37).

A three or four hour movie (reduced to two hours with Comskip) does not record for more than 2:22:37. What am I missing? Is there some type of hardware limitation? Is there configuration setting that needs to be in place?

how big does the file get? let me guess 4GB
what file system is the drive where are you are saving the recordings? if I was right before then the answer is FAT32, and you need to convert it to NTFS to fix this problem

OR are you talking about transcoding, in which case this is a problem with ffmpeg's library. there are existing threads about this problem... I will find one
