Stuttering when MVPs are enabled

I still have a small problem with video stuttering on the primary TV output when I have my two MVPs enabled. It's far better now that I moved to winxp from win2k. The MVPs are connected but not streaming.

I have turned off the screen saver, and any messages about pending recordings. I am using vmr7.
A couple of settings from config.xml:
<DisableHauppaugeMVPScreenSaver>true</DisableHauppaugeMVPScreenSaver>
<MvpHighPriority>false</MvpHighPriority>


I noticed that about every 30 seconds or so the GBPVR MVP processes both get about 15% of the CPU. Possibly that 30% CPU hit is causing my problem. I have 300meg of free ram, so I don't think it's a disk swap problem.

Any ideas?

Some people with slower machine have had the 'next recording' panel on the main menu cause stuttering on the MVP. Each time the panel needs to updated, there is a flurry of CPU activity which is needed for the colour conversion which happens when updated frames are sent to the MVP. Options for fixing this include either editing the skin to the remove the panel, or put the MVPs into standby when you're not using them.

I did turn off the next recording panel in the mvp skin. It was worse before I did this but now I still have the once every 30 seconds or so problem.
Both MVPs hit the CPU at the same time. Any idea what this is, or how to get them to not be syncronized when they need service?

I'll try standby on the MVPs tonight.

I'm not really sure. See if you can see anything in the logs that corresponds to the approximate times you see this.

Awww, you've upset me now, I hadn't classed my box with a P4 3.2GHz and IGB memory as a slower machine ;(

Have you got the weather plug-in installed, I`m sure I read somewhere that this plug-in eats the cpu up, if you have it might be worth disabling it to see if it works, Also might be worth disabling all none eccentional plug-ins to see if it helps too

I was thinking the weather update was every 10 minutes or so but I will check it.
It sure would be nice to allow the MVP to have a different plugin load from the main screen. I like having lots of bells and whistles for show and tell.
