I've just had to add a PVR500 into my server as I'm missing a DVBT mux at my new house and want to get a few channels from analogue now to fill in.
All the DVB channels have always played fine on the PC client via file sharing, but the new analogue channels are stop-start stuttering and are unwatchable.
They work fine in streaming mode, but filesharing mode has been my prefered option until now.

I've tried increasing livetvpredelay to 5000 in both the client and server, and also lowered the quality in the PVR500 capture source set up - neither did anything.

The analogue channels play fine in the server in both live preview and timeshift mode.

From memory the filesharing mode wasnt great with .mpg files when watching live tv or recordings that were in-progress. There was nothing you could do about this other than switching to streaming mode.

I'd concur with that, my three clients all use streaming and I think it was for this reason. (and I started with analogue and added digital later in the server).

Streaming is working fine, i just thought it wouldn't then work with some of the other formats used in my video library, but I've tried a few now and all seems to be fine. Thanks for the replies.
