Can anyone please explain the basics about selecting DVB-S channels.
I have installed a Hauppauge HVR-3000 card, configured recording source: inserted the correct LOF1, LOF2 and switch frequencies, chosen "Hotbird 2,6,7A,8".
When I scan the band in the "Map digital channels..." window, a lot of channels are found. Some are correct, picture and sound is as expected by looking at the name on the list, while others are not working and some expected are missing. Is there a way to configure the channels manually if they are not found by the scanning?
Example:
I would like to receive "Duna". I know all the details:
Freq: 12149
Polarisation: V
Symbolrate: 27500
FEC: 3/4
V-PID: 96
A-PID: 97
P-PID: 96
SID: 7201
NID: 318
Is there any way I can enter these? I have realized that there is a long list of channels for the Hot bird satellites in the file 0130.ini in the bda\dvb-s\ folder, but don't know if it is used for the scanning. I see freq, symbol rate and polarization on the list but I don't see V-PID, A-PID and SID.
In the scan-3.cache file in the bda folder I can see all the details for the scanned channels, and "Duna" is not on the list. I still cannot figure out where all these details about the scanned channels come from, the 0130.ini contains almost no information.
Can anybody please explain.
