In my setup I have pre and post padding set to 2, but consecutive shows are cut without padding. Only one tuner. Will it be hard to implement "splitting" of the video+audio streams into two files so that they get the right padding? I would image that wouldn't be so bad, especially for hardware encoder versions of the hardware.

I am a programmer myself and might end up doing it myself(or at least trying) if nobody did/is going to do this.

This would only help when both shows are on the same channel... Not sure if benefits would out way the effort.

It has a utility Zback2back what could be what you are looking for.

I gave up on "the right padding" for consecutive shows. Too many broadcasters (at least in the US) stagger start/end times away from :00, :30 boundaries for any automated process to succeed.

When I plan to record consecutive shows, I just manually record the entire time block and then use a MPEG editor to manually carve out the appropriate material. MpegImport can be helpful here.

I believe that is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
