Manual Recording from Video in

I've done some reading but think I missed something...

Using 2 PVR 150 set to composite Cable TV

Added new capture source, to the first PVR 150, using External Tuner. EPG set to none... Added a Channel 'Video In' Channel 0...

In TV Guide I can play/watch the video. If I try to record it, a popup pops up and I can choose 'until I exit Live TV' or 'For a specified time'

With exit LiveTV, that means I have to watch, while I'm dubbing. I don't want that. I'd like to start recording, pop over to watch something else, and then pop back to stop recording...


For a specified time, it will try to record, but if the tape is finished,and there's still more time left for the record, I have to go to the "Recordings" and cancel 'pending' recording...

Is there a plugin where I can start, stop, and view all from the same screen, maybe like a Tape recorder...?

Are there hooks to start and stop the recording, can I display the current video in a window?

Not really. There is APIs scheduling a recording and cancelling(stopping) a recording, but it wont really give you the sort of control you'd need to implement this. What you describe was one of my preference too, and if I could have done it this way easily, then I would of. Unfortunately there was a few complications.

Sub is away, maybe someone else might comment.

What if instead of Start-Recording-Now api, there was create recording event for a start a few seconds from when you click 'Record'..

Has anyone seen something like this?
