Can we get ComSkip more accurate?

I finally got to watch Battlefield Earth, which I recorded off Analog cable the other day. It had commercials, but I enjoyed the movie.

With ComSkip turned on (post processing) I had a few issues where it skipped to soon, and dropped me into the middle of a commercial. Or skipped a little to late, so I saw a commercial, but lost a little of the next bit of movie.

I know I can manually tweak the timing after it's processed, but I love automation. I'd also like to have a no hassle, burn to DVD process that burns without the commercials.

I have not dug into this at all, other than my initial turning on of ComSkip. But, if possible, I'd like to take the short trip, and learn from your thoughts.
