I have a PVR-150MCE and a AverMedia M780 card. Sometimes when I watch LiveTV using the AverMedia M780 card, I get terrible stuttering, which will sometimes get better, and other times get to the point that the sound goes away.

I do not get this with the PVR-150MCE card. I also do not get it when I watch a recording that was recorded off the M780 card.

The only error I can see that would have to do with the problem is in the pvrx2-native logs.
Code:
2007-09-06 23:55:26.579    VERBOSE    ConnectPins: 'Analog Audio' to 'TVAudio In'
2007-09-06 23:55:26.579    ERROR    Failed to route audio crossbar
2007-09-06 23:55:26.594    VERBOSE    ConnectPins: 'Audio Decoder Out' to 'Analog Audio Input'

Have you tried different audio decoders? Your logs indicate it is set to 'system default'.

I've tried it with System Default and the AC3Filter... both do it. I also have MPEG Audio Decoder, ffshow, and dscalar, but I haven't tried any of them.

But it's only with the M780 card... and it doesn't always happen, that's the weird part.

I'd try those other audio decoders.

OK, will do...

Is there anyway to find out what decoder "System default" is actually using?

You'd have to look in PVRX2.exe-native.log to tell.

I tried using the ffdshow decoders and had the same stuttering. I also see that my A/V receiver is actually losing the signal from the HTPC.

I sent an email off to Aver Tech Support to see if they would know why this would happen. Maybe it's a bad card or something.

In the meantime, I just made the PVR-150MCE card as my LiveTV card and the M780 card will be my recording card.

Oh, BTW, I see that the Up/Down function in the Capture Source config doesn't work anymore. Is this a known problem?

Well, I got the response I expected from them:
Quote:Try and use our AVerTV 6 or AVer Media Center in order for better
performance. Please download the application programs from our website:
http://www.aver.com/mpd/support/download/combopcie.html
Then I asked about them not supporting other applications, and this was their reply:
Quote:Sorry we can only confirm the problem if using our software. Any other
programs we don't have control over, but we do work with companies like Beyond
TV to ensure compatibility.
Oh well, I guess I'll keep it as the "Recording" TV tuner... Sad
