Firstly, I tried doing a search but didn't find anything, so if this issue has already been addressed, please direct me to the thread.

Like some others, when I noticed that the EPG wasn't updating, I came here to see if anyone else had similar issies. I then noticed there was a newer version of gbpvr, so I upgraded from 0.99 to 1.0.16. Sub, I admire your work, but I rather dislike the new interface (the appearance). I'm referring mainly to it being centered and in a rolodex effect. I liked having the menu items on the left and the ability to view the live tv in a box. But enough on that.

When trying to run gbpvr, it tells me "No available PVR350 was detected in the system."

PVRx2 loads and runs just fine and while I had to re-adjust a few settings at first, watching tv on it works fine too. I still feel a bit uneasy about it, since it seems a bit sluggish now, but it seems to record things just fine, so that's not too much of an issue for me right now.

Any ideas on what to do? Is gbpvr now dead for me, or is there something that I've overlooked?

P.S. for those having EPG problems
I stumbled across zap2xml.pl, a rather nice script that seems to work. Not the best solution but it's the one that worked for me.

Fair enough, though I much prefer the new interface to the old one, and its much better text rendering etc. On a whole feedback from the rest of the community seems really positive about the new interface.

You'd get this error when you've set the hardware decoder setting to use a PVR350 hardware decoder but dont have one installed. If you do have a PVR350, zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look, otherwise set the hardware decoder setting to 'none - use software decoding'.

If it seems a little sluggish, you could try running it using the -fse command line parameter, which has helped for some people with older video cards.

I'm mainly against the rolodex style of menus and the fact that so far there's no way to watch a show along side the menu. Of course, it's more the menu than the tv watching.

Weird. Don't know how that got set (or if I set it, why I did). That fixed that problem. Thanks. Smile

I'm using an nVidia GeForce 7600 GS w/512mb, which I would hope isn't already considered to be an "older card". The -fse option does make it smoother, but then it's fullscreen. Any chance of assimilating the best of both worlds? Big Grin

You can press the 'home' key to get video alongside the menu.

Its smooth for me in a window with my 7600GS. Try some other video decoders.

"GPL MPEG-1/2 Decoder" seems to give me the best visual, but then it seems like no matter the settings, the audio isn't quite synced up.

Just out of morbid curiosity, what v.decoder/renderer and a.decoder/renderer do you have? Could be that I need to expand my resources some.

You may need to change the audio decoder, or possibly the audio renderer.

I use a lot of different combinations on my various test machines, and I dont get any sync issues.

I'm currently using the Cyberlink decoders on my lounge PC. It uses the 'system default' audio renderer, which will vary depending on your PC and its sound device. I use PVRX2, so the video renderer is always VMR9 Custom.
