Best tv-out video card?

I have a G550, and the OSD works on the DVD-MAX TV-Out mode if I use the VMR7 method of display. However, the video lacks fluidity when OSD shows up. This is only a small inconvenient compared to the fantastic tv-out quality of the Matrox cards -- you can't compare it to Nvidia or ATI (I had both, including AIW 9800).

COOL! I'll have to try that. I think I tried VMR7 but got an error saying it wasn't compatible. I may be back here asking you how you got it to work.

Drats. I don't want to know the G550 is better than the two main competitors! I'd rather have a card that has good 3D. But poor video quality drives me nuts!

Two things I don't understand: Why DVD-max, ATI theater mode, XCard, and the PVR-350 can't manage both good video AND on screen display (GOOD on screen display and desktop). Why can't the Xcard treat VGA as an overlay with transparency?

Also, why can't ALL cards with video output adjust their displays during full-screen video to match up scanlines like the G550 and Xcard do?

Things would be SO much easier.
