Hi,

I've recently come across GB-PVR whilst looking for information on setting up a HTPC (came across it on http://www.eventghost.org/wiki/Controlli...EventGhost if anyone's interested).

From what I've seen so far GB-PVR looks very good, and I have setup a computer to use as a HTPC, however I am having trouble setting up GB-PVR to use the tv-card that I already had because it is not already supported.

I have tried following the instructions on http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardw...aptureCard, however the instructions seem to be about how to setup a digital tv-card whereas my card (EZ-TV TVP3XP) is an analogue one, so graphedit does not show anything under the BDA sections like the instructions describe.

Does anyone have any ideas or hints on how to setup an analogue card? The card came to me second hand without any manuals, so I don't know much about it other than what I've read on the review at http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/ecs-...index.html, so any help would be much appriciated as I am a bit of a beginner in the HTPC area, however the card does work fine with Intervideo's WINDVR software that I have.

Thanks for any help, Harlquinth.

Sorry but this card lacks the hardware mpeg2 encoder required to use it with GB-PVR.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, was afraid that my card might not have a hardware mpeg encoder, but wasn't sure.

Any recomendations on what sort of card I could get instead? Ideally I would like an agp tv-card, since the computer I'm using is a bit short of pci slots, and would be useful if it had a dual tuner and supported digital and analogue signals as well, I'm sure I've seen an agp card with a dual tuner somewhere whilst browsing the internet, but typically I can't remember where! :p

Thanks, Harlquinth.
