how to watch tv without epg

hi,
i have tv wonder elite, i'm setting it up, but i don't need epg since its not free anymore.

how can i still load channels so i can watch them without epg.

just go into the config, capture sources, edit capture source, then click the 'add' button and add the channel that you want to add - you dont need epg data loaded to watch the channel. I just did this on the weekend for getting signal from my sky stb using the rf output.

It might only work for OTA or maybe only for certain cards, but for channels without an EPG I just set the second line on the source config screen to DVB EPG Broadcast or whatever it is, (the only option that doesn't ask you where your EPG file is, I think), and then clicking Map Digital Channels will do a channel scan. Might work for you, might not.

sub doesn't recommend auto-scanning for channels, but I can't remember why.

That one doesnt ring any bell for me. I'm not sure what you mean.

In the past I've told people should use the 'map digital channels to epg channels' button to scan for channels now, rather than the old ATSC mechanism for manually entering channels in the T:x,x,x format. Maybe you're some how confused with this.
