My main media player is still mplayer, as it loads fast and it reads many formats. I use GBPVR as a recording source for Hauppauge 350 recordings, which are in most cases 720x480 SD broadcasts. Some are Pillar Boxed, some are Letter Boxed and so on.
Since my monitor is 16:9 (Actually 16:10) at 1680x1050 resolution, I would like to be able to do what GBPVR does with the F7 key and what other apps such as the XBOX XMBC , that allows for a key or a control button to cycle between different aspect ratios , specially being able to zoom into a 720x480 pillarboxed video and see it 16:9 without black bars.
Do any of you mplayer/mencoder experts know if this is possible with mplayer, or if it is not, what the command line would be to view a 720x480 pillarboxed zoomed for FullScreen 16:9 resolution ?
