Hi All,

has anyone ever had experience with the Antec NSK2480 (new NSK2400 with Earth Watts PSU) and the pvr 150 MCE not fitting well? In particular the card doesn't seem to align with the holes in the bottom of the case.

Also, with my new mobo it only has s-video but I need composite, so I have an adapter, but it only shows black and white. Anyone else experience this? I'm going to change the adapter to see if that's the problem but I wanted to see if it's an unsolvable problem. My last ditch effort will be to buy a tv-out card with composite which would suck.

Oh, I'm doing all this because my P4 blew up again (!!!) and I'm finally getting rid of it. So now I'm PVR-less, my wife had to watch Ugly Betty in real time  Luckily, she's an understanding wife :p

Thanks,
Jam.z

I think when they manufactured the expansion brackets on the PVR150s they were off a little bit. Both my PVR150s haven't fit worth a crap in any of the cases they've been installed in so I doubt it's a fault with your new case. (BTW, I had initially thought it was the mobo standoffs, but any other PCI card I installed fit just fine.) The bracket seems too short, when you put the screw in to hold it, it pulls the card slightly up out of the expansion slot. I removed both brackets on mine, straighted the 90deg bend and then re-bent them a little farther up lengthen them.

Under the advanced display settings see if there is something like TV out or S-Video out or something, There is a setting telling the output to use a s-video (Y/C) signal or a composite (CVBS) . Y/C is a separate chroma and luminance signal, if you can choose within the settings for composite (or something like unchecking s-video) it combines these two signals and you should be OK

Alas, that composite field is greyed out...maybe I'll look for it in the registry later.

FYI, on my 2400 case, the little tab on the bottom of the 150 card would not go through the slot in the bottom of the case. I had to open up the slot with a screw driver and now the card fit fine. It looks like they jigged the case wrong during assembly.

Soccerdad,

that's the problem...maybe I'll put the screw driver to it later. I got it into one of the slots and now I'm wary of buying another card b/c it doesn't fit.

It's too bad since they put so much thought into this thing that this had to happen. They could have made the slot bigger and it wouldn't have cost them anything. But then I hear that Hauppauge is partly to blame as per the comments above.

Hopefully my system will be up the end of the week. I feel like a slave to the TV corporation right now.

For what its worth, it was a quick fix (only a few seconds) and all of my cards now fit. I think I just turned the case over and did it so I did not have to pull the motherboard. Good luck. It is strange that they did not leave more space. There is no reason to have it so tight.
