Hello,

I just tried GB-PVR web interface and I like it much better than the standard one. I am only interested in recording shows using PLEXTOR external converter. My recording computer is very weak (and quiet), only 600MHz Via chip, but it works perfectly fine for recordings. I do not have monitor connected to that computer, I use remote terminal to schedule recordings etc. Here is the point: since my computer is so slow - while it can handle recording tasks - it really chokes when I try to open GBPVR program. Programming takes forever. Web interface seems to be much lighter and faster, but the browser only sees integrated web server from the local machine, that is where GBPVR is installed. I would like to be able to open browser on my other computer on the local LAN and schedule recordings. That would free even more CPU cycles on my recording machine and cause less or no chocking at all.

I looked briefly through the configuration of the web server, however I do not see at the moment the place, where remote access to the web server could be enabled. Can somebody help me with this please? Or maybye I am doing something wrong..... I tried that on two different computers and in both cases in order for the web interface to work browser has to be open on the machine where GBPVR is installed. I assume this is only some security setting which needs to be turned off....

Thank you for your help,
Sincerely,
ZB

Its probably your firewall software getting in the way.

Thank you for quick two responses. I have yet to try the second suggestion, just a quick clarification: my all computers I used to test the software on are on the same segment of internal home network. No firewall between them, just LINKSYS WRT54GC router and NETGEAR switch. Should not interfere in any way (I hope....),

Thank you guys, it really was the Windows Firewall like you suggested. I had to manually add GBPVRRecordingService.exe to firewall Exceptions. It works great now. Thanks again,
