What about low power mode?

I have the epia m10000 nehemia board. My pvr's only task will be recording shows and sitting in my tv cabinet all day.

Do most of you leave gbpvr running all the time, or do you just start the app when it's time to watch a recording? I put it in the startup directory for now.

What power scheme should I use from XP? Should I turn the hard drive off after no use time delay.

Will the M10000 ever turn the cpu fan off? Has anyone gotten theirs to run quieter?

Can I make the mother board go to sleep and will the Hauppauge remote wake it up?

Will Directx9 make a difference on the epia M10000? Will I use vmr7 or 9. Right now I get an error when I use 9.

I leave GBPVR running all the time. There seems to be no reason not to as it seems to consume very few resources when it's not doing anything. Plus, it won't prevent the computer from hibernating/sleeping while it's not doing anything.

I have my hard disks turn off after only about 20 minutes of no use. I would turn them off sooner, but then I'd be afraid of even more wear and tear due to them starting and stopping constantly.

I have my computer set to sleep after 35 minutes of no use. This is great for GBPVR because it will wake the computer up when it needs to record or update EPG. Then, when it's done, it will just go back to sleep after 35 minutes. Awesome.

As far as I know, the Hauppauge remote will not bring the computer back from sleep or hibernate. If anyone finds differently, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! But, GBPVR will wake the computer when it needs to and you can probably find some other scheme to wake it up when you need to.

This is just an explanation of my own settings and the reasons I chose to set them that way. I have no clue whether these are the ideal settings, and if anyone has any comments to make, I'd love to learn more. And, as far as that board goes, I have no clue! Hope this helps.
