I've been converting to DivX/AVI some recordings I want to hang onto but recover some space. GBPVR acts nice and knows the filenames have changed and updates the database.

I can play these recordings on the server and MVP but not on client machines. They play ok with VLC and WMP9.

Logs attached and any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Martin

edit:-
Started to play file at 22:20 blank screen and had to
22:21 kill with task manager
22:22 closed services to copy logs.

The streaming is only compatible with MPEG2, so if you want to access recordings from a client machine, then you have to leave them as MPEG2 files, or play them from the video library as normal files.

You might be ok if you configured the client for file mode instead of streaming mode.

Many thanks the rapid response sub. Filemode works a treat.
Now to try to remember my reason for changing to streaming in the early days.

Thanks again

Ah yes, live TV now unwatchable.
Could there be any way to keep streaming mode (for live TV) and force the server side into thinking an MVP was at the other and and do it's transcode on the fly? Or is it time to revisit the attempts to get a PC emulator for the MVP??.
