expected behaviour for back-to-back recordings?

I thought I'd seen a thread or two about this but I didn't turn it up in searches.

I have 2 minutes pre-padding and 1 minute post-padding for most of my recordings.

When I have back-to-back shows recording on the same channel, I'll lose the tail end of the first show and it will be found on the start of the next show, depending on presence of trailing commercials or not for the first show.

Certainly, this isn't surprising, but:
I thought I'd read about logic being added at some point to notice back-to-back shows and adjust the start time of the second recording a bit in these situations.

Am I misremembering things? Certainly this is something I can do by hand every so often, too, if I remember to look for back-to-back shows.

Padding has always been considered "optional", so in the case of a back to back recording no post padding is supposed to be applied to the first recording, and no pre-padding to the second recording.

There was a bug in the current 1.1.5 release though that could cause it to accidentally apply pre-padding to the second recording, causing the first recording to stop early. A patch for that bug is here: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=6.

ahhh... at the time I first read that, I didn't think that applied to me as I have a single-tuner setup.

I'm still having clipping off the second recording with back-to-back recordings and my 2 minutes pre, 1 minute post. I just changed this to 1 minute-1 minute to see if that helps. Whether with the patch you linked for the 1.1.5, or now with the 1.2.9.

The time on my computer is set well, when I synch it to a NTP server it's always a very minor change. The only back-to-backs I have regularly are from the Food Network in the USA (Alton Brown). Are they known to any here to be a little fast and loose with the timing of the shows?

Anything I can to to help, let me know. Anyone else seeing this?

You can check the file properties of the recorded mpg to see what time it was created and last saved.

You should also be able to look in the logs for the times it ends and starts the recodings.
