With all the things you can do while watching a video (changing the aspect ratio, turning comskip on/off, mini-guide, thumbnail creation, subtitles... and probably a lot of other things that I haven't discovered yet ), it would be nice if they could be shown in a menu over the video. Maybe it could just be a banner across the top of the screen, like the time-line, where you can select things and then get some drop down options (so it doesn't take up a lot of space). Maybe such a menu could be reached by pressing "OK" on the remote? (center of the navigation buttons, easy to find and remember ).
I like the short-cuts, but for lesser used functions (and new users) they can be pretty tricky to remember It could also be a neat way to get to plugins that appear over the video, though I don't know if they still exist.
Also, I guess I have some kind of fascination of very simple remotes, like the Apple remote and the B&O Beo1, so it would be pretty cool to be able to control most of GBpvr with something like that in the future
