If you can find any old VOOM boxes, they can be used as well.

The first round of coupons are unrestricted, the second round (if all the money is used from the first) is restricted to OTA only persons.

Many people don't think about emergency reception. In that event, running a small TV on a UPS or power inverter in a vehicle may be the only way to get emergency information. Having at least one converter should be important to most people for that reason. Hurricane Katrina is the reason all TVs must now have digital tuners. Prior to that they weren't going to require them for 13" and under sets. Someone in the FCC realized that in emergencies, people weren't going to be able to run the family room TV, they were going to be firing up that little (old & analog) kitchen set.

At least one converter has a "VCR timer" for recording also. (Echostar/SlingMedia)

I told the truth on the application & requested 1.
I mainly want one for a small analog LCD TV for when i'm in my future shed at the back of the yard.

The tuner on it now just plain sucks.
Reviews for the magnavox show above average performance when pulling in signals.

If I don't get a coupon, i'll probably just buy one.
I'll buy it from walmart.
Not best buy.Smile

Sorry, if I wasn't doing my taxes right now, I'd probably let your comment slide. But since the TV in our bedroom uses an antenna in the attic for analog reception, I think I deserve to get a $40 voucher out of the gov that bent me over for the last year so I can still use it in 2009.
