Helllo...

I am at my wits end. I recently had to reimage my XP pro machine. BSOD and on reboot would not read drive. So I rebuilt machine. I was running GBPVR 96.12 on a PIII 1 GHz machine 512 MB memory. With the rebulld I decided to upgrade to GBPVR 1.1.15. Home network is still the same, i.e., MVP on a wired network using a DLink router.

However , now the playback via MVP is very choppy. While on the PC it is fine. I must note that I cannnot get PVRX2 to run on the PC it just hangs. Using GBPVR.exe (on the PC) the recordings play back with no choppiness.

Any suggestions as to what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance.

Post all your logs and I will have a look, after confirming that PVRX2.exe is allowed through any firewall you might have.

I would probably recommend 1.2.9 over 1.1.5 too, to make sure you got all the patches in 1.1.5 plus the new functionality.

Martin....

Thanks for your reply and offer to look at the log files. I did check an make sure the firewall was off... and it is. I determined that the culprit was a loose ethernet cable on my router. The DLink DI-604 has plastic type RJ-45's and they are not very sturdy sometimes the cables work loose. Reseating them corrected the problem.

I have read a number of post about problems with 1.2.9 and am a little apprehensive on upgrading at this point. Right now I just want to get things back to the way they were pre-BSOD and reimage. Things like channel logos and other plugins.

Thanks again.
