Would be nice to be able to keep watching something while hunting for something better.

Also, PREV button able to switch between a live-tv/PVR program and a recording, so you can fill commercial gaps with a recording if you don't have "credit" yet on the live-tv program.

Thanks for the terrific software AND support.

you can... hit the guide button and a miniture guide comes up. The green button will bring up and another type of guide as well, showing how long each show has left + whats currently on the channel.
Alternatively the 'info' button on my remote (not sure which key combo it is with keyboard) puts your back to the main menu whilst still playing live tv in a box.

"Info" is the home key on a keyboard.

Curse my generic MCE remote with no "info" button!

Having said that, HIP is cool. Make pretty much any button be pretty much any button.

I don't see how GBPVR could do live tv/pvr without picture-in-picture. Hmm, or maybe running two instances of it.

It's amusing to me how I've traded one version of power-watching for another. GBPVR records things any time they're on, cuts out commercials, etc, but with VCR/TV/PiP I'd pretty much watch three shows at one time.

Of course, the easiest way to fill "commerical gaps" is to never watch anything live. I hardly remember what time my favorite shows are on anymore. They just magically show up in the "recordings" directory. Smile
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

I think it's called "More" on some remotes.

I'm aware of the inset using the home button, but when I go to the guide all I hear is sound, I have to go to the main menu or recordings area to see an inset screen. What I'm interested in is either a semi-transparent menu over the program or an inset screen in the guide.

Thanks,

I didnt show the inset window on the TV Guide screen with the default blue skin because I couldnt find any convenient place to put it. Other skins are free to put it wherever they want.

Yeah, although with enough network bandwidth you could be watching somethin gon your main screen and a couple of other programs on a laptop if all are in the lounge....something I do when the wife is watching something i don't want to...
