Do you have any routing rules in your router that may be out of date and be routing port 7647 to another machine? Are there any other firewall type things running on the local host? Have you tried accessing from outside the network (assuming you have your router configured to forward the incomming port to the GBPVR pc? If you have the router configured to forward port 7647 to the gbpvr pc have you tried Can You See Me to see if you are able to get to the port?

Allright so I was doing some other work related things on that computer and all of the sudden it started working...I wasn't really troubleshooting this particular issue so I don't know what exactly triggered it. Among the things that I did was: enabling iis7, allowing for remote desktop connections, and creating another user for gbpvr PC. So it is working now..
Thank you

OK I hate to reopen this but even though I can access EWA through LAN I can't access it from outside, which I really what this is for for me

I just had the same problem as most of you. New Installation of GB-PVR on Vista, countless tries to connect to EWA from localhost, or outside (like a long time before with Windows XP as i had the same Problems and EWA only started to working since me installed the IIS and removed them immediately).
For now i found another solution (at least for me). Make sure, GB-PVR Recording Service is running and EWA correctly installed. Now STOP the Recording Service. Open up within the Controlpanel -> Management -> Services. Search for the Service "WebClient". On my Installation the Starttyp is "AUTO" and it's started. Shutdown this service. Restart the GB-PVR Recording Service. Try: http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/guide.aspx If this works, than you can restart the WebClient from Vista. I don't know why the first start of EWA is every time such an adventure, but this seems to work. Perhaps for you too. EDIT: I don't believe, that this is a problem of the recordingservice itself. My other two Clients are connected via LAN as StreamingClients with this PC. And this Connection (Port 7689) worked from beginning without any Problems. |
