I am sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldnt find it by searching in the forums. I have two sources and some of the channels are duplicated between them. When I import the channels using the builtin xmltv plugin, the channels are merged into 1 channel. For example, BBC World on source 1 is at channel 41 and on source 2 is at channel 1. In the combined listing, it only comes at 41 (I presume because I populated the channels for source 1 after that for source 2). How can I force GBPVR to show both channel 1 and channel 41? I guess one way would be to give the channels on source 2 some other channel id. Is this the only way?

Thanks,
Khurram.

The channel number you see in the guide doesn't have to match the channel number in your capture source. This means that even though you only see channel 41 in the guide, when you record from that channel it should use the correct channel on either one of your tuners. What you do not have is the ability to choose which of the tuners will be used.

I wanted duplicate channels to show up in the guide so I could choose whether to use the analog or digital tuner, and to achieve this my program guide information had to come in with different channel names. It just so happened that the SchedulesDirect plugin names channels without the number (ie. KEYE), while the default xmltv behavior (from SchedulesDirect)appends a number (ie. 42-KEYE). Since the names are different, GB-PVR treats them as unique channels.

If you really want the channel listed twice (as opposed to the normal behavior I described in the first paragraph), you would probably need to post-process the xmltv output for one of your sources to make those channel names unique. I don't know if there is a utility available for doing this, but it would be pretty easy to do with a scripting language like perl.

Thanks for your reply. I have done as you suggested above and renamed the channels in the 2nd source. Now I get 2 entries which is what I want.

Thanks.
