I’m having problems with the EPG update for D!sh as it hangs with 1 second left on TP12486. Note that this TP has the D!sh EPG on it and can be around 32MB.

I have no problems with BEV, but their EPG is only 6MB in size.

Excerpt of log:

2008-06-13 18:53:09.843 ERROR [5] Unexpected failed in DvbEpgReader.LoadChannels(): System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
at NativeUtilities.BDARecorder.GetPsiParserEPG()
at GBPVR.Backend.Common.DvbEpgReader.LoadChannels(IEpgUpdateProgressCallback callback)
2008-06-13 18:53:10.031 VERBOSE [1] labelAction.Text = Scanning: T:12486,V,20000,34 (1 seconds)
2008-06-13 18:53:11.031 VERBOSE [1] labelAction.Text = Scanning: T:12486,V,20000,34 (1 seconds)
200

Could this be an indication that it is choking on the large amount of EPG data? Unfortunately, the log is mostly greek to me.

Twinhan 1020a, XP pro /w SP3, 1.2.13

Thanks for any help!

This means there is something specific about the epg data it doesnt like and isnt handling well. If you bump the thread in a couple of weeks, when I'm back home, then I'll take a look for you. I'll probably need to get you to supply a 200mb or so full transport stream recording at the time.

Hi !

Any news on this issue? I get the same error message in the log during EPG update. I have DVB-T though (Boxer in Sweden). I'm using FireDTV.

This means there is something specific about the epg data your broadcaster is producing that GB-PVR doesnt like and isnt handling well. If you want it resolved, I'll probably need to get you to supply a 200mb or so full transport stream recording of the problem frequency.

You'd have to find the frequency causing the problem, then set GB-PVR to use the 'full ts' mux, then schedule a 1 minute manual recording for a channel on the frequency. When you've got the file, put on a web server somewhere and let me know the download URL.

I seem to have a similar, possibly the same, problem. I am located in Hungary, and I watch broadcast digital TV (DVB-T). The EPG update sometimes hangs, sometimes does not, but I get no EPG data and the error message in the log is:

2008-10-01 23:40:19.068 VERBOSE [1] labelAction.Text = Scanning: T:C51,714000,0,0,8 (3 seconds)
2008-10-01 23:40:20.068 VERBOSE [1] labelAction.Text = Scanning: T:C51,714000,0,0,8 (3 seconds)
2008-10-01 23:40:20.380 VERBOSE [4] Notify(Scanning: T:C51,714000,0,0,8 (3 seconds))
2008-10-01 23:40:21.068 VERBOSE [1] labelAction.Text = Scanning: T:C51,714000,0,0,8 (2 seconds)
2008-10-01 23:40:21.380 VERBOSE [4] Notify(Scanning: T:C51,714000,0,0,8 (2 seconds))
2008-10-01 23:40:21.411 ERROR [4] Unexpected failed in DvbEpgReader.LoadChannels(): System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
at NativeUtilities.BDARecorder.GetPsiParserEPG()
at GBPVR.Backend.Common.DvbEpgReader.LoadChannels(IEpgUpdateProgressCallback callback)
2008-10-01 23:40:21.724 VERBOSE [4] DVB EPG scanning complete

No big problem, I can use XMLTV, just figured I let you know this is not limited to D!sh.
