The latest version of the MDAPI plugin and GB-PVR v1.3.7 gives me stuttering on audio and video on FTA and encrypted channels. As soon as I deselect multidec supports all is well.

I'm running GB-PVR on a Windows Vista SP1 configuration.

Any chance that the links of older versions are up?

(First, sorry for the double post)

I have having a problem in which it appears the MDAPI filter is not being released. The first time I select a tv channel to watch, everything works fine. If I use the up or down buttons on my remote to go to the next or previous channel, I don't have any problems. However, if I go to the TV Guide and select a new channel, I get a new instance of the MDAPI icon in my toolbar, but the screen stays blank and it doesn't appear that either instance is receiving data.

Ideas?

Update:

I did get it to work. I went back to the previous version of GBPVR, reinstalled my card's drivers, and some other things that frankly I cannot remember, and got it to work!

Sorry I can't be more helpful for others with a similar problem...

I'm on a gbpvr pre-release and before that 1.3.7 with MDAPI (2.2 I think) and I've never seen gbpvr so stable on madpi based channels..

Have you tried changing mdplugin to a different one?

Hi guys,

Sorry to be a pain and ask yet another question but I seem to be really struggling trying to register Mdapifilter.ax

When I try to run regsvr32 "C:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\mdapifilter.ax" it get an error thrown back at me stating that "LoadLibrary ("mdapifilter.ax") failed - This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.".
I've checked it over with the dependecy walker as suggested and it seems to get far as trying to load DWMAPI.DLL - (Isn't this a Vista file?)

I'm running WinXP SP3 (With IE7) and I'm trying to use MDAPI 2008 - or at least the one off the link in the OP.
Do anyone have an ideas? Cheers for the help.

CP

.: EDIT :.

Fixed my own problem - Installed VC++ 2008 - DOH!

I have similar problem

The MDAPI version 2008 plugin and GB-PVR v1.3.7 freeze the video like slow motion , both free channel and crypted channels . As soon as I deselect multidec supports it works fine

I'm running GB-PVR on a Windows Vista SP1 configuration.

Found it!

I had the same problem as above, as soon as I activated MD, the TV got all freezy and jumpy. Without even a high CPU usage, it behaved as if CPU was overloaded.

Chased several versions of the multidec api and ffdecsa, even one that was from this summer, but no avail. And it was all working nice in ProgDVB. (Spend several evenings on this...)

But the solution came when I discovered that programmed recordings were not only OK, but even watchable when the recording still happened, even when only a few seconds behind live. The problem is in the Live view. Simply always watch time delayed: Deselect in Misc the "Live Preview Mode"

Now the MDapi works without problem....

[edit]

Some extra info: I found that the true reason for the choppy playback in live mode was I used an MPEG decoder that was not able to play compression artefacts. On every artefact, it would freeze for a few frames. After going ffdshow, I can go back to live tv.

But: MDapi active => artefacts
MDapi not active => perfect image

So the combination GBPVR/MDapifilter.ax is introducing artefacts, on a FTA channel. And the mdapifilter.log shows it recognizes it is an FTA channel...

So far I located and tried about 5 different versions of mdapifilter.ax, all the same issue.
