Hi

I've been happily using my newly installed GBPVR with just one Hauppage Nova-T 500 recently.

Decided now to add a second card but have a bit of a problem.

I've installed the hardware OK and set the second card up in confic, tuned and EPG grabbed etc.

However, with the second card installed when I try and view Live TV on ordinary Freeview channels GBPVR tells me that the channel is encrypted.

If I remove the second card in the Decoders section in Config everything is back to working.

Any tips please??

I've attached the latest log files.

Hope you can help.

Thanks

Graham

It looks like that second device is failing to lock onto a signal for some reason.

This is being incorrectly reported as the signal being encrypted, but this incorrect message should be able to be resolved by registering GBPVRTSMon.ax though. This wont help the lack of the signal lock though. Maybe when you added a splitter for this second card your signal is now marginal?

Hi Sub

Thanks for your advice, seems obvious really!! :p

Anyhow, have added an amplified splitter which seems to help. On one card now when re-tune I get strength about 70-75 and quality of 100, whereas on the other strength is down about 50-60 with quality of 100. Odd that they should be different. Guess it might be down to sensitivity?

Quick query, I now find loads of "extra" channels on tuning; all duplicates of existing channels labelled (Audio #2). What are these? I guess I don't want to check them as enabled?

Thanks

Graham

Sorry.. just noticed;

What happens if when tuning I find more than one ocurrence of the same channel ie: BBC One. It seems that if I check both I only get one entry on the mapping page. I suppose I only need to check one entry or does GBPVR pick the best tuned option?

My nova-t-500 has balance signal strengths, but there were a few people complaining on here and the UK Hauppauge forum that one tuner was deafer than the other. (have you tried switching the cables round to make sure it is the tuner and not the splitter that is unbalanced?).

I get all the extra channels - they can safely be ignored - something like alternate language streams or narrative descriptions ISTR.

These are secondary audio streams broadcast in the UK for the visually impaired. Just stick to the primary audio stream (unless you're visually impaired).

GB-PVR cant tell the difference in tuning strength between them, so you'll just need to pick one.
