I just recently installed an ATI 3450 graphics card in my PVR in an attempt to be able to run VMR9 Custom rendered. When I watch live TV (OTA ATSC) the PureVideo applet shows up in the system tray area as expected, and I can use it to change the PureVideo settings. But if I hit pause which goes into time delay mode, or if I watch a show that was previously recorded, the PureVideo applet disappears. Am I missing something? I would think all 3 modes of operation would be the same. Coincidentally, live TV produces a pretty good picture, but time shift mode and recordings both result in a lot of tearing.

I get the same behaviour with my integrated ATI X1250 graphics. To get rid of the tearing you'll probably have to use VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive.

I read in another post that if you set the playback Video Decoder to System Default you get the Nvidia Icon back - just tried this and it works.

Incidentally what settings are you using in Purevideo?
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T, 8GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro
M8S S812 Android TV Box running latest versions of SPMC & Kodi
Zotac Mag - client
wired Gigabit Ethernet throughout house

I'll give this a try tonight. As I mentioned in another thread, on my system FSE on the 3450 is just as bad as VMR9 with regards to tearing. I'll post my settings tonight - I don't remember all the technical names.
