how do people search these forums!!!

I find it almost impossible to search this forum.....there is no boolean search nor can I search for a sentence,am I missing something?:confused:
I get ok results using Google instead but still not the best....any ideas as I cannot sit here all day reading an entire thread.

I cannot search "audio out of sync" as a sentence ... it comes up as keywords audio, sync .... I guess that is the best it can do, putting the sentence in quotes seems to make it worse.

I wouldnt expect the exact text "audio out of sync" to come up too often, since people would type lots of variations like "I'm having audio sync problems" or "my audio and video are out of sync" etc.

A keyword search of keywords like audio and sync is probably a reasonable starting point. You can select to only search titles to start with looking for topics related mostly to this subject. Or do a message search, but ask it to return results as posts instead of threads. If you get a more results than you like, you'll most likely find more keywords to help narrow it down further.

If you want to search for exact text, you can use google with search criteria like:

I use google as well and it works very well and is right up to date in its indexing.
In fact, searching for site:forums.gbpvr.com "impossible to search this forum" brought up the top post of this thread.
