Instead of hard coding to only an hour, allow us to customize the length of the LiveTV buffer.

You're missunderstanding how it works. It doesnt work on a timed buffer. You can have as much pause buffer as disk allows. You can hit pause, then go out for the evening, then come home and press 'play' to resume playback of all the evenings shows.

Aha - that's good to know, my cable PVR is limited to 1 hr. Thanx!

So - if I leave GBPVR on a TV channel, it will continue to record until it fills the disk up? That doesn't sound like a very good way to do it. Could end up with no disk space for future recordings.

Only if you leave it paused. Simply watching tv isnt going to fill your disk because it deletes the buffer files for shows you've already watched.

So, if I leave it running, it will delete the buffer for the currently watched show, and start another one for the next show? However, maybe a setting for pause buffer length might not be a bad idea for next release.

Yes, sort of. When in timeshift mode it'll create a buffer file for each show. If you've buffer several hours back, you may have several of those show buffer files in your queue of files to be watched. Old files are deleted after you finish watching them.

We've used this scheme for several years now, and it works well. Its unlikely I'll change it.
