Looks good, maybe even better than the ASUS Pundit-R. It is likely to be pricey though

Even better pics

Smeghead are you using the Pundit-R

Are the graphics good enough to use for GB-PVR?

I'm just about to buy one of these and would be interested in anyone's opinions.

Cheers,

Simon

I'm not using a Pundit-R but two of my work colleagues are. One with a portable TV (14 inch) who says it's pretty awful, the text not very legible etc. and the other using it on a 28 inch widescreen TV who says that it's "OK". One of my colleagues brought the box into work and we connected it up and I am tempted to buy one (I have a MVP connected to my main PC at the moment).

The downside(s) of the Pundit-R:
2 PCI slots but it's a real pain getting 2 full height cards in
To add better video capability you can only add a standard PCI graphics card (taking up one of the precious PCI slots).

Of course TV cards can be added via USB as can better audio.

The upside of the Pundit-R is that it's relativelly cheap, it runs fairly cool and it's very quiet. Make sure you get a quiet HDD.

I'm planning on running it using the DVI out to an LCD Tv, so hopefully picture quality will be ok. Was the graphics quality ok when you tested the Pundit-R at work?

I don't really want to add an extra graphics card unless I have to, as I will put two Hauppauge Nova-T cards in there for Digibox and PVR functions.

Nice to know that it is quiet though, as that's just what I need.

Think I'll have to get one, all I need now is a source for a cheap P4 of around 2.0 Ghz....

Cheers,

Simon

We tried it on a 19 inch CRT monitor and the quality was good, what you'd expect from a £30 card, not good for games but OK for general use. We didn't try the DVI output though.
