I've added a second GBPVR server to my system so I'm looking to cross populate my gbpvr.db3s so that anything recorded on one appears in Recordings on the other (eventually).

I've seen lots of stuff relating to this sort of thing in the Forum, so I should be able to work it out (eventually).

But... if anyone is already doing this, and would like to save an old geezer a bit of leg work - well, there's no harm in asking - eh?

hmmm wouldn't you do it with a program??

SInce you know c# etc wouldn't it be easier just to open the db on both sides and copy across - or for the poor mans way copy the recording-dump.xml from one to the other and import it....

you can specify the file to import now from cmd line also so makes it easier..Big Grin
pvrx2.exe /import:"\\path\filename.xml"
tho i believe it now imports the reoccurring recordings too..so that would be bad...
just have to cut them out...

i also worte a batch to 'send' shows info to another machine one at a time from postproc bat file...
[basically does same thing but it's immediate after recording]
i haven't updated in a while so i can check it's still valid and let you know..
i'ts nice cuz you can use it in vid library also to send specific shows over..Smile

That's taking it a bit far - I'd admit to having a passing acquaintance with C#, but that's about it.Big Grin I have thought about it though, but I'm still a bit reluctant to tamper with the db or config via a program - maybe someday...

Now that's more like what I'm talking about... If you were able to make the batch files available to me (and perhaps point me at a reasonable reference source for coding batch files), I'd be happy to play about with them.

Nice link - I noticed a section on Rexx - brings back memories - I relied on it for years on an IBM mainframe in the 70's and 80's - I wonder if I can find a version for windows (free of course).Big Grin
