persim Wrote:4. Type "mc2xml -c us -g XXXXX" into the command line where XXXXX is your zip code. This will bring up an option to choose which cable system you are using. Select the correct one and it should start to download the listings. It will create a file called xmltv.xml.

persim Wrote:6. If you don't have an updateepg.bat file in your GBPVR directory, create one. Open notepad and enter the following info:

c:
cd\
cd C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\MC2XML
mc2xml

So, why aren't all the command line options/modifiers for the mc2xml executable called out in the batch file? - mc2xml -c us -g XXXXX, etc? And, if my batch file does call those out everytime, is that a bad thing?

Oh... does it only need those to initially configure, and if I already have an mc2xml.dat file, then it reads from there, and doesn't need the command line modifiers?

It doesn't hurt anything. In fact it is my opinion that setting it up once and trusting it isn't really the way to go.

Create a batch file that switches to the mc2xml directory and then calls with your important data...

Code:
@echo off

cd\
cd ..\EPG\Grabbers\mc2xml

mc2xml -D 1.dat -c ca -g T0X0X0 -L -C includes.chl -o mc1.xml

This assumes that my mc2xml directory is C:\EPG\Grabbers\mc2xml
I specially indicate my dat file, my output file, my include file all residing in the same directory as mc2xml.
