mc2xml and remapping channels

With the death of yapi2xml, I was recommended mc2xml as a replacement. I like it though I heavily used the remapping tool of yapi2xml. Does anyone have a way to remap channels using mc2xml? (or any xmltv for that matter)

I tried using the "Channels" tab in config.exe and though it seems to put the channel in the correct order in the guide, it doesn't change the display name.

I looked into writing gawk scripts, but that seems beyond my abilities.

i think i found one that might work...http://www.prize.nl/software/pvr/

a prog called ReplChanId.exe that lets you replace channel ids in xml file...
you don't need to do that, but it also lets you replace the display name while you're at it so that may do the trick...

just use ReplChanID INPUTFILE --from ID1 --to ID2 [--display DISP] --output OUTPUTFILE
and use same ID for ID1 and ID2 and add the -display to be the name you want gbpvr to display...look for the channel ID for ch's you want to change in your existing guide xml....

The current update of mc2xml 12/20/08 has the ability to remap channels.
