Hi all

all of a sudden, I'm recording TV at 25 frames per second, instead of the standard 29.97. I've burned DVD's before, but now DVD Author is giving me an error saying it cannot convert the video because it it only 25 frames per second. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? It is only in the last 2 weeks. I haven't changed anything on my computer. When I am not connected to the internet, Windows Media Player says it cannot find the codec to play the file.

I am using the INtervideo codec, as I always have. I've tried converting the file to 29.97 fps, but the audio ends up off, and I don't want to go through a whole ordeal trying to burn a TV show to DVD. I can watch it fine in GB-PVR, and it works on media players, but I can't try to burn it to a DVD.

Thank you in advance.

just thought I'd reply to myself before I look like a complete idiot. I guess all I had to do was force NTSC in the direct.ini.

For future reference though, does anyone know why it may have started recording in PAL? Just a quirk of having it on auto?

This is the first time I've seen this reported, so unfortunately I can see any reason this would be happening.

What version of windows are you running? If its XP you could rollback to a snapshot previous to these problems. Somethng has changed so you may be lucky and be able to rollback.

Off topic, but as for the audio out of sync issue when changing from 25FPS to 29.97FPS you need to use something like BeSweet which will adjust the audio for you so that you can mux it with the video and it should sync up for you,

Cheers,
Colin.
