Since my pvr150 board won't work with vista 64, I need to find a way to control my new client. I have it working with a BTC rf keyboard for the moment, but I would like to use my Harmony IR control if possible. From what I read, I can get a MCE remote with IR dongle, or usb uirt, but these seem like more than I need. I am wondering about something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Wireless-PC-Remote-C...dZViewItem

It is cheap and if it controls media center, it might control gbpvr for basic functions. I am looking to do basic navigation, and start, stop, pause and select. My thought is that I could train the Harmony to the codes. If it won't control gbpvr out of the box, then I suspect I would have issues with mapping it.

Has anyone played with something like this for gbpvr or ??? Other cheap/easy ideas are welcome. Again, I just want to use my harmony to control my client.

I've been using for two years now a setup I purchased from Iguanaworks (http://iguanaworks.net/).
I couple this with HIP (http://www.byremote.com.au/Default.htm)
and WinLIRC (80% down the HIP download page).

I can setup ANY remote in my house to do different things on the PC with HIP. My old dvd which broke's remote now controls gbpvr perfectly. I also setup my tv remote's programmable vcr buttons to control pause/play in gbpvr. HIP+WinLIRC seem limitless in the number of remotes you can setup. Just keep adding buttons and definitions to the two programs. Gbpvr will reviece the same keypress, unknowing which/where it came from.

It's cheap and my family can use it.

I only spent $25 on the serial IR device, and it's OS generic, it supports the possibility of linux.
