Is there a way of getting gbpvr to not record shows that I've already seen.

Ok, well, how about episodes that gbpvr has recorded/played once before.

It does do this if you're in north america and using Schedules Direct for the EPG, and have the 'dont record duplicates' setting enabled. If you're using any other EPG, then it has no way to tell one episode of the shows is the same as any other episode of a show. (show name and description are not good enough to be used for this purpose)

Big Grin
But where would I edit the watched list for when a scheduled episode gets preempted or for whatever other reason what's actually played is not the show listed on schedules direct?

How do I tell it that it need to record the episode again when re-runs come around?

The history that is kept defaults to the relatively short period of 40 days, and is primarily designed to minimize the changes of re-recording the same episode that might rerun more that ones a week etc. You can run 'pvrx2.exe -remotehistory' if you need it to start recording re-runs again.

The amount of days can be tweaked in the <RetainedPreviousEpisodeDays> setting in config.xml.

If the series you're interested in watched a long time ago, and was deleted more than 40 days ago, then you dont need to do anything.

So, If I understand correcty I could alter the config.xml and set the Retained days to 36500 and it would stop recording shows that I've seen already. (After it recorded it once anyway)

That's GREAT!

But it sounds like there is now way of removing a single epasode so it can re-record it if it's been missed.

Would it be hard to create a user screen do allow for deleting of single items from the history?

Sorry, its unlikely I'll create a screen for managing this history. This is feature is only for the subset that use Schedules Direct, so not really a screen I'm interested in having in the app. I prefer it just be a quiet thing that happens in the background, as it always has.

This logic only applies to season recordings. You can always manually schedule a specific episode to record.

Is the history in any kind of database file that OpenOffice (Base) can open? Can I just do it myself by deleting a record somewhere?

OpenOffice cant open it, but tools like SQLiteSpy etc can. You wont be able to identify which is the history item for the show you're in though, its only identified by a large number. There is no name etc.

Shouldn't that be '-removehistory' ?
