Relative newbie here -
Loving the promise of GBPVR, but getting a bit wound up by trying to get my Nebula USB card working & messing around with BDA & MUXs.

So, having discovered that GBPVR doesn't do radio recording anyway, I'm thinking of leaving the Nebula to record radio and buying a new card for GBPVR.

So recommendations please - I want:
DVB-T
2 Tuners
reliable good functioning with GBPVR

Ideally I'd like it to be USB as I may move my PVR server to a laptop at some point...

I've noticed a lot of people using the Nova-T 500 is that my best bet? Is there a USB alternative at a reasonable price?

cheers,

James

I've got more than one tuner and in reality I not totaly sure that I need it. In the Uk most programs are repeated at a later date anyway. Since I have started using GBPVR no longer watch live TV so if something is recording therefore I can't watch live TV then I simply watch a programme i recorded early.

Also since GBPVR introduced multiple channel recording from one tuner. You can watch BBC1 and record BBC2 so that helps somewhat. However it can only record channels of the same mux.

If you want a dual tuner I would reccomend the pinnacle 3010ix. I've had less driver hassles with it than my ol Nova-T 500 and you can pick them up for around 15 quid.

Sorry i don't know any dual USB tuners

Bathman,

Thanks for the info - just what I was after - EXCEPT - It looks like this pinnacle card is PCI Express & I've only got PCI slots.

Is my PC going to be up to twin tuners anyway? Specs are celeron 2.4, 512mb, XP SP3.
It worked beautifully with my homebrewed PVR - Nebula USB card, Dabdig and DigiTV - flawless recordings, but less functionality access via my MVPs, so I'm keen to move to GBPVR.

I've been using 2 Nova-T 90002 tuners for over 3 years & they have performed perfectly. The only problem I have is the occasional glitch caused by a less than perfect tv signal which is easily sorted by Videoredo.

your pc will be fine for recording 2 programmes at the same time.

I used to have a nova-t usb2 but (with my old socket a motherboard) I had problems with it not waking up correctly upon resume from standby, the ir sensor duplicating button presses and other hassles.

My nova-t 500 has been excellent. Even though I am not a tv junkie, I still frequently need 2 tuners and now with multi-recording, I can do more as well.

I also had the odd timestamp glitch but they seen to have disappeared of late, not sure if that is due to me playing with the aerial leads or using .ts instead of mpeg mux.
