What is this used for? Is the TS (I guess that's Time Shifting?)

When I watch live TV - the recording status shows that it is recording - but when I look at the Live TV buffer directory - it is empty (always). I did verify that the directory exists and that it is set up in config.

Can someone explain what this is for and maybe give me some insight into TS?

Thanks - and Happy St. Patrick's Day! Big Grin

The live tv buffer directory is used when you're in timeshift mode, or if you press pause when in live preview mode. With either of these situations the application is recording tv to disk, allowing you to skip back, pause etc.

Whenever you see discussion about "TS" its referring to "transport stream". A transport stream is the raw transmission of data used by digital tv.

As mentioned above, its only used when you disable live preview mode (forcing it into timeshift mode), or when you press pause.

As mentioned above, TS refers to transport streams, the data stream format used to carry digital tv.
