Scanning Picks Up No Channels

Thanks to the wonders of Partition Manager I totally destroyed my Vista installation. I've now started to re-install GBPVR, but am not having any luck with doing a successful scan to pick up the digital channels... both the Nova-S and T500's aren't picking up any channels, although the signal strength looks pretty good. Any ideas of where to start looking?

make sure you have installed all updates in survival guide
then do a full scan

Well, I certainly thought I put all the patches in. But I did them all again, then re-ran 'reregister filters' just in case, and now all is well! Thanks.
