Glad its working. I use the same xml data file but it is a bit of faffing around ticking and unticking channels. I may well look at two files now that you have mentioned it.

regarding dvb-t cards.... I use a couple of nova-t-500s in two machines (one main and one test) and have had little problem with them - other than the driver sometimes dying after 2 or 3 weeks of use, I suspect the into and out of hibernate does it, a reboot every couple of weeks prevents this.

I recently got a Pinnacle 7010x dual DVB-S and dual DVB-T from ebay and it can record all four simultaneously. PCI-e though and the main server doesn't have one of those slots, so it is in the test machine at the moment, but was such a bargain it was irresistible.

My system is due for a major overhaul, But would require everything from the ground up, case, psu, m/b, memory, gpu etc, which is easy for me being an IT Technian/Programmer. But will probably get a Dual DVB-S or T not sure which yet.

Wow, damn shame outta stock, as it is a really good price. Will keep a look out for this type of card.

I know the how the DVD-T works, But say I get a splitter for a DVD-S cable and split one into my STB and the other two into the pctv card. Is it only freeview channels that you can get, or is more geared up for eurpean type sat sources???

But might like a dual DVB-T and get it to record two channels at the same time. But this is job for after summer.

May have some spare cash left after doing the kitchen out, this is where all my spare cash is going at the mo Sad but after doing it may 300-400 left Smile.

Will do a post later in the year when I am about to start, for some advice on tv cards, m/b, processor etc.

DVB-S is not that easy. Signals can be both horizontally and vertically polarised, so the Sky box sends two different voltages to the LNB to both power it and switch from H to V. This is why Sky+ needs a dual LNB and two cables as it can tune in two stations. I ended up with a quad LNB - one for the STB and three for the shacks tuners.

With DVB-T and subs latest version of this software, you can record more channels that you have tuners for  - but..... They must be on the same Freeview MUX. There are only six of these at present so twin tuners could record quite a number of channels.

have fun

I'll probably go for a dual DVB-T card and keep my PVR150 for the STB, but before that need to upgrade my TV arial.
