Map channels to EPG keeps crashing

I installed all the patches in the 1.3.11 survivor guide and I have downloaded my epg via Schedulesdirect.com (7-day trial) and when I try to map the channels to the epg, it seems to go all the way to the end of the scan and then gives the following error. I've attached the config logs as well.

Does it always die at the same stage in the scan?

It seems to, but I wasn't looking closely enough. The scan that resulted from the error I sent you went to something like channel 84 or 85 (based on what config showed in the list when I opened the mapping window again). The one I ran earlier seemed to go through all the channels. BUT, of course, I ran it again and it passed! Huh? I have three errors in the Event viewer from earlier attempts. (This is with a HVR-1600 card).

I have two QAM channels that have good audio, but no video. They are FOX News and TBS. I can find TBS via my TV's tuner, but it didn't find FOX, while WinTV2000 finds both. Also, the scanner is not picking up a 1080i version of PBS at 5-805 while the TV and WinTV2000 finds it.

Any clue on how I can try to get these to work? Running a rescan won't lose the mappings I have already laboriously made, right? I am not sure how to manually set the tuner values.

for me, 'map' always crashed unless I first change all the decoders in config to 'system default'. Couldn't tell you why, but this is how it behaves on my system.

I changed mine to system default at one point, but I can't remember if that is the last thing I did that made it work. Worth noting... thanks.
