Ok, let's try this from a different angle. Here is a clean installer for WizMetadataGrabber (v1.0.8.2). See if this resolves the inconsistency between MovieWiz and MetadataGrabber.

I can run both on my system without a problem, so it must be a difference in the base code (ie not the newest WizDLLs).

That was much better.
Images is saved correctly in both command line and UI.
And xml-files is saved in UI (setting Save to xml-file).
But the commandline code: /sf have no effect.
I get xml-files when I select /sb though, but I don't want to change those.

Edit: And whats really odd. I did the test above by first running it in the UI on a specific folder, got xml-files. Deleted all files and ran it again with command line (with /sf) - no xml. Then I wrote the above and opened the UI again to ran it on all folders. And now it couldn't save to xml in the UI either!
So I reinstalled the grabber again and now only using the UI - xml-files is saved.
Feels like the command line /sf locks something.

Can't really tell what's going on based on description, can you post your log file(s)?

The one ending with log.1 is a run by commandline.
It says "save metadata", but nothing is saved.
The other one is run by UI with both embedded and to xml-file. This creatse a file.

Very weird...

Ok, try this version (v1.0.8.3 just exe). Logging changes and a fix for your problem (I think).

Thanks!
That one seems to work. At least on the single file I used it on.
I'll let it go through all folders during the day, so if something comes up.
