I know it is a non-supported device that in previous versions of gbpvr didn't work very well, but it works quite well with the current version except for this annoying quirk.

The first time a recording, or live TV (the logs are live TV) is made (probably after coming out of hibernate - I don't do standby anymore) often brings up the no signal/quality box. If I close that record window and go back to the channel (via tv guide) it works fine.

Any thoughts or suggestions most welcome - there doesn't seem to be any updated drivers for the device that I can see.

thanks
pvrx2.exe & pvrx2.exe-native logs attached.

edit: Sorry - first try at 17:27, the second at 17:29

Martin,

I have the same card and the same issue, and as you said, apart from this other features of the card are great. I think Pob has the same issues with this card too.

It strikes me that if there is no good signal coming in, it would not hurt gbpvr to continually try retuning (and whatever else it does when you press escape and play again) in the background. This way, even if we do not get a signal first time, the wife can just leave it and it will recover.

I am not sure what Sub would think about this, but rather than gbpvr just sitting there, gloating at us for buying dodgy hardware, it tried to help us out and poked the S350 until it submitted and gave us a picture.

I have tried various combinations of the <BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOn> options in config to no avail.

However, it is quite amusing to watch my 5 year old daughter, who is used to this behaviour, angrily cycle between the stop and play buttons on the remote until it works. I will not miss this though.

Pity about the S350s, as the picture quality is cracking.

I have this happening too- in fact, I have had to return two as they got to the stage where whatever I did, I got the "no signal" thing on a line proven to be working for everything else (another one is going the same way, too).

Weirdly enough, the "no signal" thing didn't happen at first, but suddenly began happening out of the blue.

In addition, all my unattended recordings ballz up, as it doesn't detect the signal when it wakes up.

I don't see the issue in ProgDVB, but then again, I get the impression that the Compro drivers aren't quite as they should be.

Har, har, I never could miss a bargain!!

I just realised I had forgotten to do something really obvious and that was to run the "re-register filters.bat".

After I did this, I **think** this has solved alot of problems, including the S350 issue.

Give it a go and see if this helps.
