Hi,

I have two TV tuner cards, a TerraTec Cinergy C PCI HD and a Techotrend C-1501 Budget. Both are configured and working without any problems when watching SD channels. But for HDTV it's a different case: every time I use the TerraTec card to switch to a HDTV channel the "no signal" error appears. That happens on various HDTV channels on various transponders. But if I use the Technotrend card, it works without a flaw.

Is there something I can do to solve this problem? I have added my logs: the last log was created when I used the TerraTec card to switch to a HDTV channel ("ARTE") and the log before when I used the Technotrend card. By the way when I use the "Config" program and click on such a HDTV channel I can hear audio but no video is displayed, with both cards. SDTV channels are displayed correctly.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

It actually looks like it tuned fine, and looks like it locked a signal.

Does setting your audio renderer back to 'system default' help?

I tried "system default" as audio renderer and also other ones, but unfortunately it did not help.

I have the same cards and I'v noticed that the Cinergy card requires a stronger signal to deliver video that the Technotrend, occationally, when the cable company is doing maintanance the signal from certin channels is very weak, and the Technotrend card is able to pick up the signal but Cinergy is not. So it might very well be that you have a marginal signal on the HD channels.

I tried just using the TerraTec card (and disconnected all other devices), but to no avail.

I have other software (MediaPortal) that is able to display all channels very well under the same configuration so I don't think it's the (weak) signal that causes these problems.

What softcam are you using for the Cinergy card?

Ah, so the cahnnels are not encrypted? Are you sure that the Cinergy card works with media portal? Have you tested MP with only that card?

No, the channels are not encrypted.

I tested the same configuration today with both MediaPortal and GB-PVR and the HDTV channels are only working on MediaPortal (for the TerraTec card, the Technotrend card works with both programs). I didn't change anything while testing the programs.

What's also strange is that when I use the "Config" program and select my TerraTec card and tune to the HDTV channel, I can hear the audio. Video for HDTV channels is working for none of the TV cards when I use the config program (don't know why). So it can't be that the TerraTec card really receives "no signal" as it's obviously receiving one in the config program.

If you do a recording, does it make a file with correct looking file size(ie, not zero bytes long), and can you play that file? If you cant play it in GB-PVR, can you play it in other software.
