Yes, in WMP it works. Also viewing it on PCH gives sound, so it's probably a codec problem.

You could be running into this problem now (also from Sweden) http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=41385

Yes, seems like I have. Just recorded from a AC3 channel (not HD), and on pch (mvpmvx2) I get silence. If I play it with the native pch player I see that there are 2 audio streams, Stream 1=MPEG=silent, Stream 2=AC3=sound.

With mvpmcx2 you can select alt channels with the audio key. Could you try and play a file with mvpmcx2 and telnet to your PCH and issue this command and capture the screen
cat /tmp/dumpts.txt I am curious what this is showing Martin

Thanks, it worked to switch audio channel with the audio key after updating mvpmcx2

I remember now, because I was finding lots of empty ac3 audio streams, I gave mp2 and ac3 equal priority. I probably should make this a user setting. One that might interest you if you didn't notice it is --pref-lang swe if you find an English track on any of your channels.

It seems like, after the PsiParser patch, recordings from channels that have 2 audio streams plays without sound in the pc client when it's mpeg sound (AC3 works fine now). That is, when I play them in another player there is sound in the mpeg stream and not in the AC3 stream (as I think I've read that gbpvr does only record the first audio stream). No biggie for me since I normally use the PCH for playback, and there it works.
Perhaps a bit clearer: * Recordings from channels with 1 audio stream (mpeg or AC3): OK * Recordings from channels with 2 audio streams (mpeg and AC3): Records OK. pc client seems to always choose audio stream 2 on playback, even if it's audio stream 1 that is recorded. Example media info below, audio was recorded from stream 1 (mpeg) but silent on playback with pc client: General ID : 1 Complete name : E:\TV\Porco Rosso\Porco Rosso_20090802_07000830.ts Format : MPEG-TS File size : 18.5 MiB Duration : 35s 89ms Overall bit rate : 4 430 Kbps Video ID : 4130 (0x1022) Menu ID : 1144 (0x478) Format : MPEG Video Format version : Version 2 Format profile : Main@Main Format settings, Matrix : Default Duration : 35s 89ms Bit rate mode : Variable Nominal bit rate : 10 000 Kbps Width : 720 pixels Height : 576 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16/9 Frame rate : 25.000 fps Standard : PAL Colorimetry : 4:2:0 Scan type : Interlaced Scan order : Top Field First Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.965 Audio #1 ID : 4386 (0x1122) Menu ID : 1144 (0x478) Format : MPEG Audio Format version : Version 1 Format profile : Layer 2 Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 256 Kbps Channel(s) : 2 channels Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Resolution : 16 bits Video delay : -653ms Language : Swedish Audio #2 ID : 4642 (0x1222) Menu ID : 1144 (0x478) Format : AC-3 Format/Info : Audio Coding 3 Language : Swedish Encryption : Encrypted Text ID : 7970 (0x1F22) Menu ID : 1144 (0x478) Format : Teletext Language : Swedish |
