I've just upgraded from 1.3.11 to 1.4.7 and still have a problem I never managed to solve on 1.3.11 which is zero size recordings on certain DVB-S channels. Despite the previous thread and survival guide I never got it to work with Cbeebies and CBBC with the ts mux. With two tuners I've never been bothered enough to pursue and get logs but having tried it again today and managed to capture the logs I thought I'd post. The programs in question were "Sign ZoneMe Too!" and "Arthur" (what randomly happened to be on! These channels dont broadcast in the evenings when I actually get a chance to break, err, try and fix the pvr!) - tried to record two at once to ensure both tuners were tried so it's not down to one of them. Everything records fine on the cyberlink mux but multirecord would be nice to get working. Logs attached for pvrx2 and the recording service.

You might need to do a 1 minute recording of one of these channels using the 'full ts' mux, then make that file available for me to download, so I can reproduce the problem here and fix it.

I almost did earlier thinking you might say that! Smile I'll do it as soon as I'm aloud near the thing when the channels are broadcasting.

I've managed a full TS mux capture of about a minute - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TYRQGIGF

I tried again with the ts mux after and definately get 0 length recordings, but the cyberlink mux produces perfect .mpg recordings.

Did you scan twice ... once before 7 pm and once after 7 pm to get 4 channels in the EPG?

I suspect that tuning stuff for CBBC is not the same as for BBC3 (or is it BBC4).

On my previous 1.3.11 installation I did scan twice, but actually on this install I recently reinstalled all my capture devices and rescanned - but for the DVB-S I stole someone elses UK scan.cache file and cheated using BBC3/4 twice for CBBC and Cbeebies - it works fine in LiveTV and recording with the cyberlink mux so dont see why it should upset the TS mux? But will scan again - unless any kind soul here can post a CBBC and CBeebies line from a scan.cache run before 7pm?

Actually, as I'm working from home today and the wife and kids are out, I'll do a full scan and see what it produces. Really wish you could get it to ignore the encrypted channels in a scan though!

Well I'll be b*****ed! A rescan before 7pm and turning to CBBC and Cbeebies and not BBC3/4 works! I've just recorded 3 things at once using the ts mux no bother! Big Grin It seems the ts mux is more picky in the channel tuning than the cyberlink one, which is grand now I know!

Thanks Graham for that and Sub for the time taken to look at the logs previously. Smile

(I'm doing some guessing here).
The frequencies may be the same, but the video PIDS are different for the time-shared channels. ISTR sub saying that PIDS are not checked (as much?) when watching live tv so problems are noticed mainly with recordings....
There again, the above may be a load of rubbish!
